





History of Exeter Chapel
Exeter Chapel is the fruit of a church-planting vision developed
by our mother church,
Quidnessett Baptist Church in North Kingstown, RI.

Historical highlights:
- December 1981 - First exploratory meeting to consider launching a new daughter church from Quidnessett Baptist Church
- April 1982 - Mid-week prayer and Bible study meetings begin at the Exeter Firehouse
- January 1986 - Exeter Chapel officially covenants as a church
- November 1987 - Property is purchased on Route 102 in Exeter, RI
- November 1990 - First worship services are conducted in our new facility
- October 1994 - Exeter Chapel launches three extension house churches
- June 2000 - Mortgage on main facility is burned at a special service
- May 2004 - Education/administration wing is completed and opened
- August 2005 - Hires a full-time Facility Engineer
- April 2007 - Hires a full-time Pastoral assistant
- January 2011 - Celebrates 25 years of ministry in Exeter
