When did you start the race of faith?
I started the race of faith when I was 10 years old.

How did your race of faith start?
My church sent me to a Christian summer camp. One night there was a time of worship and prayer around the campfire and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

What is a special Bible truth that helps you in the race?
A Bible truth that helps me in the race is that God goes before me and is with me always. He will never leave me or forsake me. No matter what trials comes my way, I can rest assured, knowing God is in control of all things.

What is your Favorite Bible verse?
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Lindsey Rambikur – WMIR Host

When did you start the race of faith?
I can’t recall a specific age when I started my journey with Christ. I grew up in a home that taught us about God’s love for the world and Jesus Christ as my Savior.

How did your race of faith start?
Learning from the Bible, Sunday School, adults around me and the faithful prayers of other believers and the softening of my heart by the Holy Spirit.

What is a special Bible truth that helps you in the race?
That Jesus as a SPIRIT filled MAN was able to live a life pleasing to God and was wiling to then lay his life down as the SON of GOD for me. And he has freely given his Spirit to me so that I can also live a life for God.

What is your Favorite Bible verse?
There are so many good verses! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 ESV
Earlier in Ch 4 we are encouraged to trust in the Lord and ask God for help and our hearts and minds will be guarded by Jesus Christ. A huge comfort to me 🙂

Coaches

Paul Jordan- COACH/Elder

When did you start the race of faith?
At the age of six.

How did your race of faith start?
I heard a sermon at youth camp that explained what Jesus Christ had done to remove the guilty stains for my sins. Later, my parents led me to put my faith in Jesus Christ.

What is a special Bible truth that helps you in the race?
For many years Psalm 18 has given me assurance of the Lord’s ability to rescue and deliver me from every evil.

What is your Favorite Bible verse?
I have more than one. Here are two:
Psalm 32:8
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
and
Hebrews 9:24
“For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.”

Seth Rambikur- COACH/Elder

When did you start the race of faith?
When I was a little boy, at 4 years old.

How did your race of faith start?
My parents led me to put my trust in Jesus Christ to save me from God’s punishment for my sins. Since then I have learned, step by step, to follow in Jesus’ footsteps by faith. God has helped me along the way by His Holy Spirit and other stronger runners in the race of faith!

What is a special Bible truth that helps you in the race?
In Philippians 2:12-13, the apostle Paul tells us to “work out [our] own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in [us], both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”
This means that our race will be hard work, and we will face danger along the way. But, we also know that God Himself works inside us, both to want to go the right way, and to give us strength to go that way.

What is your Favorite Bible verse?
One of my favorites is Psalm 34:7, which says “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.”
This means that God’s very special presence is with us, both by His Holy Spirit and by His angels whom He commands, to help us along in our race, and protect us from the enemy.

Day 4

When did you start the race of faith?
Race of faith started when I was young, probably about 6 or 7, but I don’t remember exactly.

How did your race of faith start?
I grew up in a Christian home and attended church every Sunday – in a suit and tie, no less!!!! My Mom was my Sunday School teacher up through Kindergarten, and my Aunt Anna was my grade 1-3 Sunday School teacher.  Sometime during that early Sunday School attendance I asked Jesus into my heart to take away my sins and be my Savior and Lord.

What is a special Bible truth that helps you in the race?
What is your Favorite Bible verse?
3. & 4. go together for me.  Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  This verse reminds me of these truths: who I am without Jesus (sinner); where I would be now and eternally without Jesus (separated from God); and, what I did to “earn” this position – NOTHING because it is the gift of God.

Day 2 & 3

When did you start the race of faith?
7 years old in VBS

How did your race of faith start?
Hearing for the first time that there are 2 places of destination.  Heaven or hell and not everyone goes to heaven.

What is a special Bible truth that helps you in the race?
God is unchanging.  God is faithful always.  I am never alone because God promised to be with me.  God loved me even when I was sinful and unlovable.

What is your Favorite Bible verse?
John 3:16.  The entire gospel in one sentence!!!!!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” NIV

Stephanie Kinnaman

Day 5

When did you start the race of faith?
I  started the race when I was 15 years old

How did your race of faith start?
I went on a youth retreat with a close friend through her church. During one of the cabin times, I experienced God’s love and felt Him drawing me near. That was the starting line of my continued life long race! I started going to church and a Bible study, my “training” 🙂

What is a special Bible truth that helps you in the race?
1 John 4:19 has been a great reminder to be of why and how I run the race– “we love because He first loved us.” Because He loves us, we are able to love Him in return and others.

What is your Favorite Bible verse?
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I have all that I need” Psalm 23:1
